The bursaries can be spent on whatever young carers need to help them with their education at school, university or in training. This could include (but is not limited to):
- education costs such as course fees, equipment and supplies, text books, tutoring, school uniforms and extra-curricular activities
- respite support to give young carers time to study and attend classes or training
- accommodation or transport support to help young carers attend school, university or training
- financial support for the family, freeing up money for education or reducing the need for young carers to work; and
- emotional support.
If you are successful in your bursary application it will be up to you and your family to decide how best to use the money to help you with your education or training.
